Meet the Doctors
Dr. Edward Sammons
graduated valedictorian from South Newton High School. He received his Bachelors Degree (B.A.) from Indiana University in 1991, majoring in Psychology. He was a member of 4 Big Ten Track & Field Championship teams, setting a school record. In 1995 he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from Indiana University School of Dentistry. He then completed residency in Pediatric Dentistry in 1997 from Riley Hospital for Children. In 1999 he completed his orthodontic training at Indiana University School of Dentistry as chief resident with a Masters of Science in Dentistry (M.S.D.). Dr. Sammons is a Diplomate of the ABPD (board certified) and member of the AAPD, AAO, ADA, IDA and WCDA. He has served as President of the Indiana Orthodontic Alumni Association and various local board positions in Greater Lafayette. He lives locally with his wife and three children.
Marcus R. Ditto DDS MSD
Dr. Marc Ditto was born and raised in Lafayette and joined the practice in 2009. He attended Indiana University in Bloomington earning a degree in Business. In 2007, he received his dental degree (DDS) from Indiana University School of Dentistry followed by a two year graduate program in Pediatric Dentistry at Riley Hospital for Children. In 2009, he received his certificate and Master’s degree (MSD) in Pediatric Dentistry from Indiana University School of Dentistry. During his training, he served as chief resident and gained knowledge in all areas of pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, special needs dentistry, and sedation/general anesthesia. Dr. Marc is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (board certified) and is on the surgical staff at IU Health Arnett Hospital. Professional organizations include the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Indiana Dental Association, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and Indiana West Central Dental Society. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, attends Calvary Baptist Church, golf, mountain biking, hiking, cycling, and snow skiing.
Dr. Roland Ditto received his Bachelors Degree (B.S.) from Indiana University in 1965, majoring in chemistry and biological science. In 1969 he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis. From 1969 to 1971 (during the Vietnam War) he served in the Army Dental Corps with the rank of Captain. He studied graduate Pediatric Dentistry at Indiana University School of Dentistry and Riley Children's Hospital from 1971 to 1973. He was the recipient of the Cerebral Palsy Fellowship at Riley Hospital Children's Dental Clinic. In 1973 he received his Masters in Science in Dentistry (M.S.) in Pediatric Dentistry. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, a Fellow in the Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, a member of the International College of Dentists and also the American College of Dentists. He is also past president of the Indiana Society of Pediatric Dentistry and is currently on faculty in the Pediatric Dentistry Residency program at Riley Hospital for children.
