Our pediatric and orthodontic dental practice was started in 1973 by Dr. Roland Ditto. In 1984, the current building was constructed and in 1999 Dr. Edward Sammons joined the practice. In 2009, the building underwent a new renovation to accommodate the addition of Dr. Marcus Ditto to the practice. Dr. Ditto's original dental assistant, Mrs. Rhonda Culbertson, continues to work for the practice which now boasts 7 assistants, 4 hygienists, 5 administrative personnel, and a laboratory assistant. Dr. Sammons specializes in Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics treating all ages including adults. Drs. Ron and Marc Ditto specialize in Pediatric Dentistry and limits orthodontic treatment to children and adolescents.

Marcus Ditto DDS, MSD
Dr. Roland Ditto received his Bachelors Degree (B.S.) from Indiana University in 1965, majoring in chemistry and biological science. In 1969 he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis. From 1969 to 1971 (during the Vietnam War) he served in the Army Dental Corps with the rank of Captain. He studied graduate Pediatric Dentistry at Indiana University School of Dentistry and Riley Children's Hospital from 1971 to 1973. He was the recipient of the Cerebral Palsy Fellowship at Riley Hospital Children's Dental Clinic. In 1973 he received his Masters in Science in Dentistry (M.S.) in Pediatric Dentistry. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, a Fellow in the Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, a member of the International College of Dentists and also the American College of Dentists. He is also past president of the Indiana Society of Pediatric Dentistry and is currently on faculty in the Pediatric Dentistry Residency program at Riley Hospital for children.
Dr. Edward Sammons received his Bachelors Degree (B.A.) from Indiana University in 1991, majoring in Psychology. He was a member of 4 Big Ten Track & Field Big Ten Championship teams, setting a school record. In 1995 he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis. He then spent the next 2 years completing a residency in Pediatric Dentistry at Riley Hospital for Children. From 1997 to 1999 he completed his orthodontic training at Indiana University School of Dentistry as chief resident. He graduated in 1999 with a Masters of Science in Dentistry (M.S.D.) with his thesis centering around cleft lip and cleft palate. Dr. Sammons is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists. He is currently board-certified as a pediatric dentist from the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He has served as president of the Indiana University Orthodontic Alumni Association. He is a current board member of the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra and Ivy Tech Dental Assisting Program. In his free time he enjoys coaching soccer, fishing, golfing and spending time with his family.
Dr. Marcus Ditto was born and raised in Lafayette and returned to join the practice in July 2009. He received his Bachelors Degree (B.S.) from Indiana University-Bloomington, IN in 2000, with a double major in Marketing and Business Management. In 2007, he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis. Immediately following, he began a two year graduate program in Pediatric Dentistry at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. Graduate training included Oral/IV sedation, General Anesthesia, Orthodontics, and special needs dentistry. During his last year of residency, he was elected and served as chief resident. In June 2009, he received his certificate in Pediatric Dentistry and Master of Science in Dentistry (M.S.D.) degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (board certified). Professional organizations include the American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Indiana West-Central Dental Society. He also serves on the Ivy Tech board of advisers for the dental assisting program. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his three kids, golf, tennis, biking, and snow skiing.
